What is a VIN Verification?A VIN verification is a physical inspection of the vehicle. It’s to verify that the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on your vehicle matches the documents used to register the vehicle and that the vehicle is yours. This protects you if the vehicle is ever stolen and they attempt to register the vehicle under a different owner. The inspection also makes sure your vehicle follows the safety and environmental standards in the state of California.
To be accepted by the DMV, this inspection can only be completed with form REG 31 by an authorized DMV California licensed vehicle verifier, authorized who has been properly trained to perform vehicle verifications.
